Kate Clements

Position: Early Childhood Consultant

Kate has a wide-range of professional experiences in education and worked with children and their families across all ages and school-based settings. She is a life-longer learner whose interest in developmentally appropriate practices , social-emotional education, neurodiversity, play -based learning, and Special Education/Early Intervention are based on lived experiences as a parent and teacher.

Kate graduated from Eastern Michigan University with a degree in Special Education & Elementary Education and taught several years as a Resource Room Teacher. After experiencing the powerful impact an inclusive preschool setting had on her own children & family, she became passionate about Early Education. She values the relationships that are built in empowering families to find programs, advocate for their needs, and access supports  in their community. She finds it rewarding to work with other teachers to make classrooms accessible and inclusive for everyone and has found a deep connection with Early Childhood Education for over a decade.

Kate enjoys spending time with her spouse and two college age children. She and her family moved to WNC 2 years ago and have slowly been exploring Asheville and the surrounding areas. When she has some quiet moments, Kate’s favorite thing to do is sit outside with a cup of coffee and a good book.
