What can FIRSTwnc do for you?
FIRSTwnc offers comprehensive services to children, youth and adults with disabilities or at risk of disabilities, young children with a variety of mental wellness and the people who love and support them. We connect the dots between families, schools, and government agencies to create the best network of support around each of our clients. These systems and their rules change frequently, but we always know when they do and how to navigate these changes. FIRST can:
- Work with you to identify, gain access to, and advocate for community resources
- Provide information and support about your child, youth or adult's special needs and mental wellness needs
- Help you understand the education system and your child’s education plan
- Provide parent training for families with young children with autism that will lead to better communication, increased positive behavior, and improved social skills
- Provide early intervention services for your young child and family
- Provide information and coordinate services that help your older child transition to adulthood and gain independence by living in their own home
- Advise you about steps your family can take to advocate for your child
- Train educators and agency staff about educational issues, including the specific needs of preschoolers and students with disabilities
- Provide support to your family member with support of our Clinical Team with therapies and consultative services
- Train and support you and your family to self direct Innovation services
