Brooks Davis
Brooks has worked with children with disabilities since 1998 and moved to Early Intervention in 2002. When the SUNSHINE Project moved to FIRST, Brooks joined our staff in 2006. In 2009, she became certified as a Home Consultant for the P.L.A.Y. Project, where she coaches families with young children diagnosed on the spectrum to improve their communication and social interaction. Working with both the SUNSHINE Project and Autism Intervention P.L.A.Y., Brooks supports teachers and families with children who exhibit challenging behaviors, specializes in social and emotional development in young children, and works with children with delays in communication.
She graduated with a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy with a focus on young children and family dynamics from Appalachian State University in 2001, and moved to Asheville with her husband in 2002. She is the mother of two children and enjoys all of the outside activities the Western North Carolina Mountains have to offer.
