Davina Weirich
Hello there!
My name is Davina and I moved to Asheville in 2014 from Queensbury, the Adirondack
Region of Upstate New York. I hold a BA in Sociology with a concentration in Education
and offer 20+ years of experience in education and human services. As a former educator
(early childhood, middle school, and high school), an administrative manager, daycare
owner, coach, advocate, family worker, and grant writer; my experiences in the field have
given me insight into the requests and needs of people of all ages, abilities, and
backgrounds.
Currently, I am dedicated to and value being a part of the SUNSHINE Project which
provides a strong team-oriented atmosphere where idea sharing becomes a pillar in
molding the methods and plans for success of students. We continue to provide support
and guidance so that each individual student has the opportunity to be heard, seen, and
valued. My passion is advocating for children, families, and educators and
providing them with the tools to ensure optimal growth, health, and safety.
My family is my core and keeps me grounded. I have been married to Michael for 25
years and we have two adult daughters, Abigail & Simone who reside and work in
Denver, Colorado. We also have a furry family that consists of 3 dogs: Berger, Orville,
and Wilbur. Cooking, traveling, exploring outdoors, gardening, and paddle boarding are
ways that my family and I spend our time together.
