Kayla Davis

Position: Administrative Assistant and Peer Support Specialist

Hi. I’m Kayla. I live outside of Asheville, and I have Cerebral Palsy.

I graduated from McDowell High in 2013. I practiced walking the halls in my walker with the help of my bus driver during my PE class every day during my senior year and received the School Spirit Award for my efforts. I received my Associate Degree in Paralegal Technology from Western Piedmont and ultimately decided that I wanted to do something to help others with I/DD. I met Lindy Monteleone several years ago through the advisory board for the I/DD clinic at MAHEC, and she eventually hired me to work at First as the administrative assistant. Last year, I became a certified Peer Support Specialist, and I’m excited to add that to my job description.

Outside of my work with First, I enjoy collecting blankets and stuffed animals, reading, and keeping up with everything going on in the true crime world.

I can’t wait to meet others at First and figure out how we all work together to improve the lives of people with I /DD!
