Libbi Farmer

For over a decade, Libbi has dedicated her career to empowering children and families through inclusive, equity centered education. As a classroom teacher with Head Start and NC Pre-K from 2012 to 2021, she created dynamic, culturally responsive learning environments that celebrated diversity and fostered social-emotional growth while supporting children with differing abilities, challenging behaviors, and developmental delays. She partnered with families from diverse backgrounds through home visits, regular communication, and meaningful engagement, while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to provide individualized support and connect families to essential community resources.

Most recently serving as an Education Leadership Evaluator and Mentor at UNC Charlotte since 2021, Libbi assesses teaching practices, mentors educators, and facilitates professional development across Western North Carolina. Her expertise spans evidence-based frameworks including the Pyramid Model approach, Teaching Strategies Gold assessment, and trauma-informed, tiered support systems designed to prevent behavioral escalation and exclusion.

As a mother of a neurodivergent child, Libbi brings both deep professional expertise and lived experience to her work. She is passionate about child empowerment, social-emotional learning, holistic approaches to development, and trauma-informed care. Libbi believes that sustainable change happens when families, educators, and specialists work together as a true team, and that every child deserves the opportunity to learn and thrive in an inclusive environment, regardless of their abilities or background.

In her free time, Libbi treasures adventures with her son and husband, exploring new experiences and creating lasting memories together!
