Lindy Monteleone has been a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor since 2006. She earned her Master’s Degree from Western Carolina University and began her career as a School Counselor in 2003. Lindy is currently working toward Foundational Level certification in Theraplay and loves witnessing the connection and joy Theraplay brings to the children and families she is honored to support.
Lindy also has extensive training in child-centered play therapy, evidenced-based practices for supporting individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder via the UNC-Chapel Hill TEACCH program, and training in Circle of Security.
In addition to years of training and experience working with children ages 3-13, Lindy provides counseling/consultative support to people with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities and their teams. Before working with FIRST, Lindy served as a Director of Care Coordination with Vaya Health, during which time she trained with NC START and NADD and was a presenter at NC TIDES. She is also a MAHEC IDD Specialty Clinic board member and has trained with Elevatus.
As much as Lindy loves to work, she loves time with her family more! They are often out exploring the mountains and waterfalls of WNC.
