Whitney Wright

An Asheville native, she left the region only briefly to pursue higher education at Appalachian State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science in Child Development with Birth through Kindergarten Teaching Licensure in 2013. She currently holds a NC Standard Professional II Teaching License as well as Childcare Administrative Level III Credentials.

Most recently, Whitney served as an Early Childhood Coach, leveraging her deep expertise in high-quality, inclusive early learning environments. Her work emphasizes social-emotional development, trauma-informed care, and developmentally appropriate practices. She is particularly passionate about supporting children and families through a holistic, relationship-based approach that values the interconnectedness of the child, family, and classroom.

Whitney believes that one of the most impactful ways to support children and communities is by investing in the well-being, professional development, and mental health of the educators who serve them every day.

Whitney keeps busy at home with her husband, their three boys, three dogs, a cat, a thriving garden and her many chickens! When not tending to young humans or animals, Whitney can be found enjoying yarn crafts, spending time with family and friends, preserving harvest from the garden or honing her homesteading skills in some way.
